Antique Early 20th Century Top Quality Edwardian style Brooch in 9ct Gold set with a single eight point cut Ruby to the centre flanked with a duo of old cut diamond chips, a lovely and ornate piece of jewellery featuring swag rope details and a bright cut Gypsy style setting to each of the gem stones, the terminals to the brooch being finished with budded scroll and ball finials.
The reverse to the brooch is intact with original hinged pin and clasp fitting in good working order completing the brooch for immediate wear, one that will grace any garment beautifully.
Measuring 4.5 cm in width or 1.75 inches with a breadth of 1.7 cm at the centre or 0.3 inches, the brooch is impressed to the reverse with good clear markings indicating 9ct gold (375) Chester assay office circa 1918 with the makers mark for Thomas Hale of Branston Street, Birmingham.
The brooch will benefit from a gentle clean with jewellers rouge but is otherwise in original condition more or less.
