An outstanding and rare presentation silver beer jug presented to John Herbert Douglas by the members of the Clapton Cricket Club as a token of their esteem and in recognition of his long services as Treasurer 21st Nov 1896.
This finely crafted piece has a lion holding a shield with his initial's on as the finial on top of a finely reverse chased floral pattern lid ,the body has two cartouches with the above legends finely engraved in a beaded floral boarders the spout is modelled as a fantastical green man with an open mouth.
This fine and historic piece of cricketing silverware was made by Charles Bolton II 1856-1900 in London 1895.
