Antique Early Victorian period circa 1850's Ornate Ormolu Mourning Brooch featured as an oval shield adorned with layered foliate details in the form of Primroses around a recessed centre dais set with a cluster of eight point cut Amethysts, the bottom edge to the brooch is fitted with a fringed gallery of individual ball terminal tassels so as to create a 'Tremelo' effect when worn.
In Very good condition for age the Brooch is an dates to the circa 1850's and is of an impressive size measuring 4 cm x 3.2 cm x 1 cm in dimension with a tassel fringe length of roughly 3 cm.
Complete to the reverse with pin and clasp in good order the brooch shows only light age related wear and is ready to be worn.
