Antique Latter 19th Century French manufactured Rare example of a Surviving, completely intact Chatelaine manufactured in Silver Plated Brass, a five piece affair (six if including belt clasp) including a a pair of scissors, a scent phial, a needle case, a pin cushion wheel, an aide memoire and a sewing thimble in French silver.
Decorated throughout in a Neo Classical inspired Cherub, Goddess and Floral theme, images of such appearing throughout on each piece in relief (please see photographs) each of the five chatelaine items are secured via traditional dog clip fitting terminating each of the chatelaine chain droppers which are secured to the graduated panel gallery belt clasp which is intact to the reverse with hook fitting.
Overall very good condition for age, some tarnishing from age adding to the overall character but could be cleaned to a high shine if desired.
When fully extended the chatelaine measures approximately 32 cm in length, sizes of fitted chatelaine vary, for example the thread snip scissor chatelaine measures9 cm in length with a width of 4.7 cm.
The Thimble is impressed with the small guarantee mark for French 800 grade silver, the hook fitting to the reverse of the belt clasp is impressed with the makers mark 'M.T'.
