Antique Early 19th Century Re-worked Mourning Brooch as a Wearable Ring for the finger of an ornate design set with both a cluster of Emeralds and two diamonds, the setting originally being a Mourning brooch in gold (likely 9ct) of an ornate design with chased details and bevelled glass panel insert beneath which resides a woven lock of hair of three deceased persons, the details of which are legend engraved to the reverse indicating dates of Circa 1827 and Circa 1838.
Mounted within a setting with band, designed and crafted in the 1960's the new setting is finished with a fantastic floral cage enclosing the mourning brooch beneath, the central leaf and flower head fed with stems creeping out from the shoulders on either side, the leaf finished with a duo of rose cut diamonds, the flower head studded with rose cut emeralds eight in number.
A Handsome, Large Setting Ring sizing to a U.K 'O' with a setting measurement of 2.3 cm x 1.7 cm, in good condition for age, marked to the inner band for 9ct gold (375) London assay office circa 1965.
