Antique High Victorian period circa 1870's Rare example of a surviving Love Heart shaped Locket in 15ct Gold foliate chased to both sides of the body in closed galleries finished with a shackle style locking clasp so as to serve for when removing and securing to a chain for wearing about the neck, the locket has a hinged spine and opens to one side to reveal and interior set to one side with a heart shaped crystal within bezel inset with a period photograph of a young child (photograph somewhat perished from age).
The Locket is in superb condition throughout, no dings, damages or repairs making it a very virtuous piece of fine jewellery ready to be worn and added to ones collection.
The Locket is unmarked but tested to at least 15ct gold and measures 3.3 cm x 2 cm x 6 mm in dimension.
