A fantastic tactile huge antique scallop shell carved from banded agate pendant dating from the late Georgian or early Victorian period circa 1840. Possibly Chinese in origin. Fantastic shape, great colour and in great condition. However due to the size the pendant is heavy, a wonderful collectable item.
Size including bale 5.0 x 5.4 x 2.3 cm or 2.0 x 2.1 x 0.9 inches.
Weight 88.2 grams or 56.9 penny weight.
