Antique Latter 18th Century George III era Top Quality Bristol Blue Cobalt Glass Bottle in very good condition featuring a fluted gallery base, tapered, shapely body and lipped mouth fitted with original stopper which is finished with a cut terminal and gold hand painted floral gallery with separating band, a lovely example of the period, rare to find in this condition and certainly of this age, dating to around circa 1780 the bottle is in original condition save for a small chip to the cut terminal of the bottle stopper and light age related scuffing to the polished out pontiled base from touching various table surfaces over the last few centuries.
The bottle, with stopper in place stands 24 cm tall or 9.5 inches with a diameter at the mid-rift of 8 cm or 3.2 inches, the bottle likely saw use as an oil bottle at a table setting during the period but would have served equally as well as a Bachelors no beaked claret bottle.
