Antique circa 1900 French Art Nouveau Stationary/Letters Box in the Trove style manufactured in Carved Oak Finished with gilded Spelter Mounts including an dome top hinged lid and front wall both beautifully emboss detailed with closed panel galleries of Strong Art Nouveau inspired Flowers, the lid front being finished with a roundel stud handle protruding from a Rose flower.
Opening the box on the fantastic piano hinge reveal a fitted interior boasting several compartments for storing desired writing paraphernalia including paper and envelopes or otherwise, in Very good condition for age, there being no damages to the Spelter fittings and the interior to the box being without wear, rot or worm and only a small area of damage to the oak at the bottom left corner of the box, nothing serious and all commensurate with age and handling.
Makes a Fantastic and very ornate antique addition to the home as well as being very much useable, one that will suit a variety of purposes.
The Box when closed shut measures 24 cm x 12 cm x 15 cm in dimension or 9.4 x 4.7 x 5.9 inches.
