Antique Early Victorian Period Rare, Surviving matched pair of Egg Spoons in the Fiddle Pattern, each engraved to the handle terminal with the letter 'R' in a Bathoric font.
In Well Preserved condition these fine Egg spoons are one piece manufactured and measure 12.3 cm in length with a spoon bowl dimension of roughly 3.7 cm x 2.5 cm x 7 mm, the reverse to the handle terminal of each spoon is verbatim impressed with good clear markings indicating London assay office circa 1839 with the makers mark for Thomas Hayne & Dudley Carter whom were successors to a business originally founded by Noted Silversmith Thomas Wallis, also present is the early Duty Mark for Queen Victoria.
A Fantastic duo of Egg Spoons, still very much useable as well as being a fine addition to any growing collection of period silverwares.
