Antique Late 18th Century King George III era Top Quality Pair of Sugar Nips by the Sought after Silversmiths Peter And Ann Bateman, this particular pair featuring a Fluted and threaded pattern to the shanks with stylised Acorn Bowl terminals, in very good condition the tongs are without damages or repairs and still retain a firm but smooth movement when used, measuring 14 cm in length the tongs are impressed with good clear markings to the apex of the inner shank for London Assay Office circa 1791 with the makers mark for Peter & Ann Bateman, also present is the Duty mark for King George III.
