Antique Late 19th century Meissen Porcelain Vase in a Grecian Urn 'Schlangenhenkel' pattern (Snake Handled) finished in Cobalt Blue lustre glaze with gold painted detailing to the fluted base, lower body and vase rim, overall in good condition for age, there being no cracks, chips or damages, the foot to the vase as with many Meissen Vases is an applied feature and secured via a nit and bolt fitting in the hollow of the foot (please see photographs).

Nicely detailed, the duo of coiled snakes that serve as the handles to the vase are stark in palette against the rich cobalt blue lustre to the body of the vase.
Standing 28 cm tall or 11 inches and with a width from handle to handle of 15.5 cm or 8 inches the vase is signed to the underside with the crossed Swords mark indicating Meissen of Saxony/Dresden, Germany.
Still perfectly useable this vase makes for a fabulous decorators piece for the home.

weight : 1253 grams or 44.2 ounces
