An intriguing hand carved Treen jug inscribed to the base: 'From John Jan 1940' and 'Alpert France'. Referring to John G Thompson killed in May 1940 Dunkirk, hardly visible on the pictures. There's some indistinct writing just under the spout too, see pictures.
