Antique Edwardian period circa 1905 Excellent leather clad Jewellery / Trinket box in good used condition, the box showing some light age related wear to the exterior leather cladding from handling throughout the years, nothing serious.
A Handsome piece featuring a white metal shield type escutcheon plate to the lock fitting on the front wall with original steel key and brass protected patent lock fitting in working order, the lid to the box features a sunken flush fit escutcheon plate with hinged carry handle.
The box lid opens on dual hinges to reveal a nicely fitted interior with a bronze silk inside roof and padded floor, the removable trinket tray is in black leather cladding on wooden construction finished in a seaweed green velvet with leather pull handles to the sides, the tray features various tidies for storing jewellery including a fitting for a pocket or fob watch and ring channel with enclosed long wide birth compartment for bracelets and necklaces and what have you, the trinket tray sits above a bottom storage compartment which would accommodate a variety of other jewellery items as needed.
The Box when closed shut measures 25.5 cm x 17.7 cm x 9.8 cm in dimension or 10 x 7 x 3.8 inches, Makes for a pleasing Edwardian era jewellery box, perfect as an 'Away' or at home piece, one that will serve for a variety of uses.
