Vintage circa 1930's lovely Quality Denmark Silver Plated Cylindrical Box with wishbone clasp and piano hinged spine decorated to the body with a repousse image after a Renaissance Scene of that of a Village Market complete with people trading, drinking and market animals within a wooded setting.
In Very good condition throughout the box retains a smooth movement to the hinge and boasts a firm catch to the clasp when opened and closed, this lovely piece would have originally held a perfume flask (or similar) being of a fine quality and not a throw-away encouraging the owner to continue to use it as desired, not dissimilar to the chocolate boxes of the period fashioned alike miniature chests of drawers.
Marked to one edge with the Denmark silver plate mark along with the makers mark for 'Van Lou' The Box when closed shut measures 9.2 cm in length with a width and breadth of roughly 3 cm and 2.2 cm.
