Vintage Mid 20th Century Top Quality English Manufactured Gentleman's Top Hat in Black Silk with a brushed silk finish to the brim including original silk ribbon band the lower crown, the interior of the top hat being fully lined in cream silk with the silk clad floor to the inside roof of the hat featuring the makers/hatters mark for 'Christie's' Of London'.
The Hat has an inside measurement of 21 inches making this to be a U.K size 6 and 5/8'ths.
In Good condition for age, some wear as to be expected including wear to the silk finished brims but no holes, repairs or rot.
A Handsome example that will clean up well with a little effort, Comes complete with original card retail box bearing the retailers namesake for 'Herbert Johnson# of Bond St. London, also present is the Royal Approval mark for Queen Elizabeth II, the retail box is intact some age related wear.
The hat dates to the late 1950's.
