What were you doing in 1981, me I was being told by an antiques fair owner that my stock was too junky
Funny it was a hots summers day I sold loads others didn't, however possibly I sound bitter I am not, I told the snotty organiser, that I had spent 18 months or so bear in I was 17 years old working up to this level, so feared was unlikely to be presenting fine art by the next fair. Funny enough she stopped many years ago I am still trading strongly.
Anyway, we don't mind a bit of junk at Top Banana antiques and certainly do not want the shop full of fine art. But we wont allow repro made to deceive and we wont allow crafts and new items.
We have had some seriously well know names at Top Banana antiques over the years and we have had many newbies we embrace both and actually both ends can lean from each other. Top Banana is in a very positive place moving forward after a testing 5 years and both new and old dealers are adapting to the new trading world and conditions.
