What is a Stevengraph
Thomas Stevens invented the process in 1862. A very clever sewing machine that with pre set cards with holes punched in would literally sew with coloured silk threads pictures of items or historical scenes or sporting activities.
Of course like Mister Hoover he called them Stevengraphs, these have been a popular filed to collect and are always well details and colourful.
As Victorian age was the great age of so many inventions and as done by machine could be repeated time after time without huge cost. The age of mass production was upon us.
