What is a runner?
No not a hallway carpet, nor a athlete in a race.
An antiques runner is a member and a valuable member, of the trade that literally runs or moves good around selling to other dealers, normally delivering direct to their shops.
Sometimes it can a slightly derisory to call an established dealer a runner, in the past I made a very good living running goods to larger dealers than myself.
Certainly extremely useful and making very good use of a shops time as much time and often wasted time is spent sourcing interesting stock. A well informed runner can really be a real asset to a business.
