What is a Qajar?
Here we have one, worn on the bicep i.e. top of the arm via silk straps made from 22ct gold with the addition of fine enamel, dating from the early 19th century, basically a box to hold the Qur'an inside.
Worn by people of high status, a truly beautifully made item, the enamel is amazingly detailed and in really good order.
