As always prepared, today a few dealers in early restocking a typical day, the weather was cold and rainy, having all the hallmarks of quiet day, and suddenly 3 ladies with umbrellas arrived and instantly fell on jade trading cabinet, full of interesting antique jade jewellery.
After being called to open the cabinet and a quick chat it transpired the 3 were from Saudi Arabia luckily one of our staff had recently visited their country and a conversation followed about what a fascinating place they hailed from, with a fascinating ancient history as well as more recent one. As my mother would say little in life is wasted and having direct experience of where the various cities the ladies came from etc made the whole buying experience go extra smoothly.
Within 40 mins many thousands were spent and we had met their driver of their Bentley Mulsanne, sorted out collecting by another driver of the bigger items they brought and packed the jewellery to go with them including top secret surprise brought by one lady for her friends birthday.
Having the ability to change from website packer to super attentive sales person and back to packer again is the skills we require from our staff and service with a smile too.
