But and quiet a big but its not without massive cost in charges, which means if you want the best out of your buying pound we will have less leeway to negotiate on debit card, even less on credit card to large fees charged by banks.
£50 cash you buy an antique box, the dealer get the £50 and he then spends with his local fish and chip shop, they have £50 to reinvest into society.
£50 on debit card same deal now dealer has £49 to spend, he spends £49 at chip shop, now chip shop has £48 to spend and on it goes within 20 odd transactions and likely a lot less bank has the whole £50 and society is poorer.
Worse still and far worse costs on credit card.
Anyway we take anything even euros and dollars and certainly all cards and best of all bank transfers which cost nothing now, but bear in mind the cost that are hidden.
