Tube lined
A little like pate-de-sur, except it is effectively a line to hold glaze and rather than enhance and create detailed decoration. This was squeezed onto an unglazed pot creating an effective fence or barrier to hold the liquid glaze.
McIntyre and Moorcroft potteries are amongst the most famous users of this method, and here featured is Royal Doulton.
What this meant was different colour glazes could be applied at the same time, speeding up the firing process saving time money and risk of breakage.
Obviously cost was as always a factor so finer pieces such as Moorcroft McIntyre would have far more detail and therefore make higher prices, and tended to be porcelain rather than pottery like Moorcroft or Doulton.
