Trying to be right
A well used expression is the customer is always right, and often are and if not we do everything we can do work with people to sort whatever issues there are, making it as easy as possible.
Antiques as we know is a huge field, I have been dealing for over 43 years and still learn every day. But and a big but, we do try to be as accurate as possible with descriptions and dates, saying contemporary rather than vintage when decorative rather than old.
More importantly keeping reproduction items out of Top Banana Antiques, if we find the odd item slipped through its removed, and mislabeled items are re labeled, we check on all this several items a week.
We walk a narrow path between being interesting and antique without being pompus and snotty. Our whole ethos is we want something for everyone, whether a child buying an old toy for £1 or a serious collector buying a bronze for £3000
