This spring, Top Banana Antiques turns 23—almost a quarter century spent hunting down the world’s quirkiest glassware, one-of-a-kind furniture, and all the rest of those storied objets d’art. Since opening our doors in 2002, we’ve weathered everything from global upheavals to seismic shifts in how you shop for antiques—and we’re more excited than ever about what’s next.
Embracing Change from 9/11 to COVID‑19

After 9/11, the world—and the collectibles market—felt suddenly fragile. We doubled down on building trust with our customers, hosting local “show-and-tells” and neighborhood appraisal days to keep the community spirit strong.

When the internet really took off, we leapt in with both feet—first by building www.topbananaantiques.com, then by launching our YouTube channel. Today, over 95,000 of you tune in regularly for our querky "Top Banana Antiques " videos and observations on lifestyle and antiques, gardens and food, and travel, wildlife and trying to not just save the planet but improve it, where we unwrap stories behind each piece.

COVID‑19 forced us to pivot overnight. We reimagined our showroom as a virtual tour space, polished up our shipping protocols, and offered touch-free curbside pickup. The result? Sales not only held steady; they grew, as collectors worldwide discovered us for the first time.
