Standing at an so called decorative fair where many things are out and out brand new
Antiques or Just Decorative? There's a Difference!
Standing at a so-called decorative fair, you can sometimes be forgiven for wondering whether you've wandered into an antiques event or a brand-new interiors showroom!
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with buying new, of course. But let's not confuse the two. If you're looking for antiques, you want the real thing, not something made last Tuesday to look as though it has survived two world wars!
At Top Banana, we don't sell reproduction pretending to be antique. We believe the real thing has something new simply cannot manufacture: genuine age, history, character and the charm that comes from a life already lived.
Our five floors are packed with genuine antiques and collectables, each with its own story, quirks and individuality. And because our dealers know their trade, you can shop with confidence, rather than wondering whether that wonderfully aged finish is 150 years old or courtesy of a paintbrush yesterday!
Of course, new decorative items have their place, but if you want antiques, why settle for an imitation?
Come and explore Top Banana. You might find the perfect piece for your home — and it won't have been knocked up in a factory pretending to be something it isn't.
The real thing. Real character. No reproduction pretending to be antique. That's Top Banana!
