Snuff boxes
What is snuff, basically finely ground sometimes flavoured tobacco, snorted into the nose highly addictive and often making the partakers sneeze.
However, of course a myriad of containers and boxes were produced to cover all tastes and pockets, with the later in mind small boxes as often carried in waistcoat pockets.
Often treen, carved wood which with regular handling gained and lovely smooth feel as well as a patina.
