Size doesn't matter when it comes to carats
Even young inexperienced girls need to learn that size is not everything, far better to go for good quality bright stones than large dull pebbles.
Also so many younger girls when they get engaged really are tiny size and a large over sized stone on a small lady looks like a cracker ring.
Go for bright clean stone that pop out to you, the reason diamonds are duller is due to the inclusions either impurities of internal flaws, you will have a better investment and enjoyment and better value.
The diamond price is really controlled by large mines and as such only release so may larger stones making the price of even dull larger stones over 1 carat higher than should be.
Try and look at size of stone against the finger or hand of the wearer also skin tone too, lastly even high street jewellers charge little for cleaning worth giving the ring a professional clean once a year will enhance the stone and gold.
