Is Japanese pottery made for the export market to Europe, tended to be on soft paste terracotta pottery, with highly decorative figures with very expressive faces.
Often these were hand painted in factories with master painters adding the details to the faces, the earlier pieces tend to be better quality and more detailed paint work.
Tended to be vases and chargers often, sometimes the vases can be really huge, the height of popularity for production was the 1890s to 1930s.
