Natural blue zircon as opposed to cubic ziconia
Guessing like a lot of things the clue is in the title, blue zircons are natural stones that come from Russia, and cubic zirconia are lab created stone to represent diamonds.
Blue zircons were produced in the 1920's and gave an aquamarine appearance to a the stone, looking great with white gold and platinum popular at the time.
Natural zircons come in blue and white and have a lovely metallic type hue to the stones.
