You might say real or fake. Except not that simple. A piece of glass could represent a stone of any colour or indeed a white sapphire or jargoon represent a diamond.
But, represent look like pretend to be not the real thing.
With regard to moissanites or lab created diamond, I brought my first one for £1700 sold it for £2000 it got sold on twice and then returned to me as moissanite an expensive lesson, however I now know the difference and how to tell a real diamond from a moissanite without a tester and some testers will be fooled by a moissanite.
Would you like a gold plated wedding ring, suspect not. Same with lab created stones, they look fine absolutely fine but will pass no test.
