Kichenalia, funny word but says what it does on the tin
The "Pure Milk" pails are probably the zenith of kitchenalia collecting, designed for dairy use and cheese making cream collection etc.
One of the great things about collecting kitchenalia is, its affordability, maybe not everyone can collect these, however most can afford many kitchen items Stan Knights offers many in the nought to £20 range and other dealers such as Tom Hemmings have a selection of older and more high end, particular printed and advertising china and pottery. Robert white offers a good selection of very affordable copper pan and brass ware.
The drab empty statement kitchens and going out of fashion and as often the case in harder times people like to get things from the past to add security and a feeling of continuity.
All in all a great thing to collect and many things are still useful, I use my china thermometers daily and my c1900 tin nutmeg grater all the time, let alone a good antique chopping board daily.
