Joseph Sankey and Sons J.S & S
Like the Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts or B.G.H which we recently had a nice example manufactured in Birmingham a well know city for designers and manufactures, particularly in metal both precious and non precious.
Unlike some of the other manufactures JS&S used presses to shape sheet metal as indeed the crumb tray here pictured would have been. One of their iconic designs was the crocodile skin jugs which like most of their items meant to useful good looking and functional. They made in sheet brass and copper.
A readily affordable and useful item to collect and use and still pretty readily available we have approx 4 items in Top Banana Antiques as we speak think at least 2 jugs. Just another example of proper 100 year old antiques being a lot for not a lot.
