It all began in 1093 with the Battle of Alnwick

It all began in 1093 with the Battle of Alnwick with Malcolm III King of Scotland being killed by the English force lead by Robert de Mowbray.

Over the hundreds of years names such as Dunbar (1296), Stirling Bridge (1297), Falkirk (1298), Bannockburn (1314), Nevilles Cross (1346), Flodden (1513), Solway Moss(1542), The Rough Wooing (1540's), Sheriffmuir (1715), Prestonpans (1745) to finally Culloden (1746), the last pitched battle on British soil, have been taught to us during our history lessons at school.

Thankfully now each nation picks it's very best 26 players to do battle for us all, tonight's Battle of the Euro at Wembley the latest.

The best of luck to the British Nations, whichever side of the border.
