Marooned for many weeks, suddenly an antique chair washed up on the beach, they made both a very happy living for the rest of their days.
To some extent this was true in the past now the market is very informed and knowledgeable and with the like of google lens everyone knows everything and more important the worth "We have this chair to sell online they are ......"
However unlike 2 dealers on the desert island at Top Banana Antiques you have 50 odd to bounce ideas off, look and see whats selling and indeed emulate such a nicer word than copy.
Been able to see whats what and what is really sells for in the real market place is a great way to build ones knowledge, we had a spell recently with staff in their twenties listing Victorian items as mid century and even 1970s as they needed time under their belts to learn and grow.
We have had several newbies join us who have really gone on to be extremely good dealers and reap the rewards of what is a fascinating business and when done correctly very profitable too.
