Collecting Crystoleums
What is a Crystoleum, a convex peice of glass that gives a three demmential look and feel to a picture, often Crystoleums are of great masters and works of art of course they tend to make what is commercial they were made and invented in the late 1890s.
Like everything buy what you like and enjoy as for investment make sure not peeling or cracked, and the more commercial a subject such as pretty ladies, dogs cat etc or fairies, grand master etc tend to be the most saleable and collectable.
Worth noting to make sure frames are original and unopened and in tidy good condition.
Like a lot of antiques look great in groups on the wall, and again best to collect a style or theme.
