Collecting antique & vintage coins
Coins as with most things need unless very rare to be in good unworn condition, please do not clean coins except for a light polish with soft cloth.
A lot can be learned from coins and the thrill of holding a coin from the 1200 is amazing 800 years old.
Recently we have had a very knowledgeable 12 year olds buying coins, a delight to see. Generally makes sense to buy in a field ie a time zone or country ie pre decimal etc.
Bear one thing in mind oldest is not always best, often a roman coin won't make the same as a a far more recent coin as all about desirability.
