Traditionally given as a present to mark a child becoming an adult, at this time 21 but today now usually 18, this is a fantastic vintage 9ct yellow gold pendant or charm of a Yale door key dating from the mid 1950's with English hallmarks. At this time charm bracelets were very popular & are still collectable today, hung in the traditional way as a charm from a bracelets as well as a pendant from a necklace.
The English hallmark can be found to the one side, this is where you see the London assay mark along with the date letter for the year 1954. The maker is 'FM'. Marked 'Yale' to the other side, a well known lock manufacturer in the UK.
