This Englishman's almanack for general information for the year of our lord 1839. This almanack is offered in good overall condition and still complete with its original red case. An almanac, in its simplest form, is a book containing a calendar that includes notations for holidays and holy days, as well as astronomical information such as the rising and setting of the sun and moon all the way up to government offices even to the phases of the moon at high and low tides. According to the Encyclopaedia of Ephemera, the first printed almanac was published in Vienna in 1457.
