A lovely sterling silver vesta case. Fully hallmarked for sterling silver, Birmingham and the date letter for 1909. Maker's mark R.C for Robert Chandler. It's beautifully engraved with flowers and scrolling detail; and there is also a space to engrave initials or a monogram should you wish. The hinge is in good condition and the hallmarks are located on the lip underneath the lid. It boasts a large functioning match strike on the underneath should you so wish to use it as a match holder. A nice thing of good quality.
