Shield Pendant Fob Sterling Silver Watch Chain Vintage English Art Deco 1922.
Dating from a time when every well dressed gentleman would hang his pocket watch from his jacket or waistcoat with this type of chain, but today they are worn as chunky necklaces or bracelets. This is a fantastic graduating sterling silver albert watch chain with a 9ct yellow gold shield pendant fob dating from the Art Deco period.
The English hallmark can be found to the rear of the fob. This is where you see a shield for the collectable Chester assay office along with the date letter for the year 1922. To the front banner the fob is inscribed 'T & D League' with the dates '1922 - 1923'. To the rear 'Berkeley A.F.C'.
The links of the chain are marked with a silver lion mark, some of these marks are rubbed, please see the pictures. The dog clip clasp is not marked & is the same colour as the T bar pendant which is marked 'Albo silver'. The rings that connect all the components together have solder present, again please see the pictures. Good secure dog clip clasp with a good spring. This chain is just long enough to fit around my neck as a necklace.
