Ruby Claret Engraved Glass Jug Antique c1850s
This elegant ruby coloured claret jug dates to the mid 19th Century. It has been expertly and finely wheel engraved and the whole is complemented with the clear glass twisted handle. You can just image this in use on an affluent Victorian table or sideboard. The narrow neck would surely produce a pleasing 'glug' sound when poured.
It is offered in good original condition and is free from damage or excessive wear with only very light age related surface scratches. The base has some light scratching as you would expect and hope to find for its age.
