Antique Late Victorian Period Rare example of a Surviving Chatelaine Pin Cushion in the form of a Love heart complete with padded red velvet fitting for storing ones pins as well as provisional lugged safety chain so as to serve and secure as a chatelaine piece.
In very good antique condition, there being no dings, damages or repairs to the silver and the velvet fitting is without signs of perishing, the chatelaine measures 5 cm x 4.4 cm x 1.3 cm in dimension with the safety chain measuring roughly 10 cm in total length with jump ring.
The body to the chatelaine is impressed with good clear markings indicating London assay office circa 18998 with the makers mark for Marion & Co whom were Silversmiths & fancy goods dealers of New Oxford Street, London W
The item will benefit from a clean and polish but is otherwise in original condition more or less.
