This vibrant and fascinating painting was created by Donald Hughes (FAL, ARWA) and is entitled 'Emergency' The scene depicts a group of firefighters running towards a raging fire scene, possibly during WW2. The intensity and chaos of the image reflects the emotional and physical intensity of the event. It dates to the middle of the 20th Century and is painted in watercolour, bodycolour and charcoal and more recently framed. Hughes was president of the 'Bristol Savages' several times,  the Bristol UK based art group.
