Mini Japanese Meiji Period Satsuma Jar Antique c1868-1912
This very finely detailed Japanese Satsuma ware lidded jar or vase dates to the Meiji Period of the late 19th Century. The quality of the brushwork is very good with lots going on in the images and plenty of gold detailing. It depicts someone presenting the king a scroll and probably relates to a famous tale.
Please see images but it is offered in original condition. Apart from one tiny chip to the lid it is otherwise free from damage. Because the rim is unglazed it is currently somewhat dirty but will probably clean up fine. There is only light age related natural wear to the decoration.
