A plastic brooch pin from the late 1960's or 1970's made by the French designer Lea Stein of Paris.
These distinctive brooches were made between 1969 to 1981 & are very much in the Art Deco style. Lea Stein started working in the fashion industry in 1957 & by 1965 had begun to develop the process of layering very thin sheets of cellulose acetate (or rhodoid) & laminating them to form a multi coloured sandwich of plastic. Each sandwich was then baked for a long time, then cooled & cut into shapes. The whole process could take as long as 6 months.
