Antique early 19th Century Matched pair of rare surviving Irish Silver Salt Spoons in the classic Fiddle pattern with a mermaid Scalloped Shell repousse detailing to the reverse of the spoon bowl, in good condition for age each spoon measures 9 cm in length and is verbatim impressed with markings to the reverse of the handle terminal for Dublin Assay office with the makers mark likely for Gustavus Byrne, also present is another mark, likely duty mark for King George III.
Makes for an interesting duo of collectible Irish silver spoons that will shine with a gentle clean and polish.
