Irish Bog Oak Pin Tray With Harp And Floral Design c1920. An exceptional piece of hand decorated Irish bog oak having a detailed floral surround with a charming Irish harp central design. The display of bog oak is common within Ireland and decorative pieces such as this were sold heavily to tourists during the late 19th and early 20th century. The hard petrified wood was taken from Irish bogs and was beautifully decorated with ornate patterns such as the one above. The pin tray is in a good clean condition being free of any visible faults or defects.
