Inscribed Mourning Hair 18k Gold Buckle Ring Antique Victorian 1879 English Hallmark.

Simply fantastic antique Victorian 18ct yellow gold buckle ring which opens to reveal mourning hair inside the band, as well as an inscription to the inside of the band.
The gold hallmark can be found to the inside of the band, the assay office is Birmingham with the date letter for 1879. There is also a makers mark but the 2nd letter cant be read either 'W.C.M' or 'W.G.M'.
The front of the buckle opens to reveal brown braided hair, the ring is stiff to open & shuts securely, see pictures to see how the ring opens. There is an ivy leaf detailing around the whole band, the ivy leaf has the meaning in the language of flowers of friendship, fidelity & marriage.
