'In Memory of' Black Enamel Forget Me Not Hardstone Cameo Mourning 9k Gold Locket Stick Pin Brooch Antique Victorian c1860.

Monica Trevette

Simply charming, this is a fantastic example of antique Victorian mourning jewellery which was made popular by Queen Victorian after the death of Prince Albert in 1861. The hardstone cameo to the centre of a forget me not flower is a charming addition.
The gold included in the stick pin is not marked, we believe it to be 9ct yellow gold. The enamel to the surrounding buckle is in good order but has the minor surface scratches as expected from the pins age, please see the pictures. Great detailing to the cameo. To the rear you find a locket compartment, at present there is brown braided hair. Good straight pin again see pictures.
Size of stick pin 7.8 cm or 3.0 inches.
Size of head 1.8 x 1.2 cm or 0.7 x 0.5 inches.
Weight 2.8 grams or 1.75 penny weight.
